“Ever since I was a child there have been clear signs that I’ve had ADHD (inability to concentrate, forgetfulness, self absorbedness etc). In the 5th grade my home room teacher whose father happened to be a pediatrician recommended my mother to get me evaluated for ADHD but my mom ignored the recommendation unfortunately. I’ve always had problems studying and staying concentrated in class but always found ways to least keep my grades at around average. I also managed to do pretty well in University as well due to the plenty of free time and freedom of self study. But I still struggled with time management and keeping track of my responsibilities.
Now as a business person, I always pay my bills late, I cannot keep track of my finances, responding to messages and keeping in contact with people in both my private and work life is very difficult, to the point that I’ve lost friends and have been reprimanded multiple times at work because I don’t respond to work messages. I keep losing valuable possessions and I struggle to remain consistent with even the things that I love to do for more than a few weeks . To summarize I would just like to be diagnosed and medicated so I can feel like a regular person does.”

Our Approach: How We Helped John Thrive
As John’s doctor, my first step was to listen carefully to his childhood experiences. Then, we delved deeper into the specific challenges he was facing in his life right now.
We conducted ADHD psychological testing. The results showed that while John’s intellectual ability was high, his processing speed was lower than average. This gap between his intellect and processing speed explained why his actions sometimes felt uncoordinated. His primary struggle was with time management.
Initially, we focused on practical approaches. We started by encouraging him to incorporate reminder alarms into his daily life and to establish clear routines, such as planning monthly tasks. However, these methods didn’t show the desired improvement.
Consequently, we began prescribing a low dose of ADHD medication. Within about eight weeks, the significant issues John presented at his first visit were resolved. Now, he visits our clinic only once a month and is enjoying a healthy life with his work, hobbies, and relationships.
If you’re experiencing symptoms similar to John’s, we strongly encourage you to seek medical attention as early as possible. You don’t have to struggle alone; we’re here to help you find solutions together.
